Martial Arts for Self Defense
Sensei Matthew Patrovsky was awarded the rank of Godan (5th Degree, Black Belt) and the title of Soke in October 2006. He has been studying Martial Arts for 30+ years and teaching for over 15 of those years. His training experience consists of different styles including, Jujutsu, Kempo, Taijutsu and Tai Chi; often some of the styles were studied simultaneously.
Sensei Patrovsky has been able to help organize Martial Arts events such as the large exhibition held in June, 1998 for the movie release of “Mulan”, which included several different Martial Arts styles and schools from the Truckee Meadows area performing demonstrations of katas, weapon forms, board and brick breaking, sparring and demo teams. It was considered the largest non-competitive Martial Arts gathering in Northern Nevada at that time (and may still be).
The last 10 years Sensei Patrovsky has been revisiting and rearranging the teaching methodology with a goal of creating a Martial Arts system that is more well-rounded and complete on its own and adheres to its own philosophies as the means of instruction, at all levels of training, practice and use. Tenryokudo Bujutsu is the result of his endeavors.
